Using a marketing scratch card for customer data collection.

To the casual observer these cards for Uniqlo appear like any other promotional scratch card. However, the primary reason for the marketing scratch card  was not to create sales but was to gather customer profile data of age, gender, preferences, likes & dislikes etc. With a unique redeemable code under the scratch panel, a print run of 750,000 cards distributed across 16 UK stores the cards drove customers to the main website were able take a real snap shot of their customer segments  in a very short space of time.  as well as create some sales and in the process.

Marketing Promotion Campaign

These scratch cards cards were part of a marketing campaign by Leamington Spa BID to drum up business for the local retailers in the BID district during the lead up to Christmas. The scratch cards were distributed via the retailers and other outlets to encourage footfall both during and after the Christmas period. Winning card prizes were redeemable at over 20 retailers and ranged from a free coffee at the local café, a 2 for 1 meal at the local pub  to a discount at the local hairdressers. As a marketing tool these cards created vital footfall and sales but also cemented relationships between retailers and also illustrated to them the BID’s ability to be innovative in the support they provided.

Integrating variable data and redeemable codes these cards are an example of a Bespoke / Variable data solutions.
